Case 17

The organisers of the “Climate” conference did not respect my professional statement and answer. First of all they also don’t answer concretely about where they’ve found my private EMail; look how similar this answer is to the previous case; ” was obtained through publicly available professional platforms or academic profiles—such as university websites, research publications, or conference proceedings—where speakers and researchers often list their contact details for professional networking purposes.”
And even if you have my EMail, who allowed you to subscribe me without my consent? Upon asking again, there is no answer – #professional_ghosting at its best.

What I find extremely funny is the sentence on the bottom with small characters: “Disclaimer: This is not a spam message and has been sent to you because of your eminence in the province. If, however, you do not want to receive any email in future from …. 2026 reply us with the subject “remove /unsubscribe”. We concern for your concealment.”

Erm… my “eminence in the province”? Yes, I know I can unsubscribe – what a surprise, thank you for the info. What you cannot answer is who subscribed me. Who can that person be?

With no further comments, because history repeats itself over and over again

… if all this is normal, then let’s make it public,
right? We are adults, let’s take responsibility for what we say and what we do

My answer to this – both per EMail and in Facebook Messenger:

Thank you for answering me on Facebook and admitting that I am subscribed
to your mailing list without my consent. I am kindly asking you again
who is the responsible person for my subscription.
I have been waiting for an answer for more than 8 days.
The EMail on the FORMEC #FORMEC proceedings is probably there
because I was ending my PhD, and I did not know at that time if
I would gonna continue my PostDoc at the BOKU #BOKU university.
I take full responsibility for that.

Furthermore, I’ve asked some of my ex-colleagues – some of them
still in academia and others who have resigned; none of them seems to
get so many unwanted subscriptions. Some of them also have names and
EMails found in the FORMEC 2022 proceedings (which is 3 years ago !!!)
and they could also be contacted by those means and/or in LinkedIn.
This is not the case, though. How did you came up to add me instead of them?

I am gathering a track of those cases in my Facebook social media account:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/…
If what you did is legal, normal, and you take responsibility for your actions,
you will not have a problem if I mention you by there by name, right?
I am preparing a personal website where I am going to post also all those cases.
Are you OK with me naming your organization?

A great answer – although one more time not concrete.
I wonder why…

For the moment I will not publish anything since
[1.] I know how easy one can delete messages,
create fake/identity theft profiles –
even this can be deleted.
[2.] the message has come across.

But I keep the right if I feel it will help somebody.

I know the truth of my experience; anything else
is gaslighting.
