Case 9

On the 17. April, after more than 3 months of unwanted EMails inactivity and happiness, I’ve shared the following link on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/…/urn:li:activity…/. 2-3 hours later an unwanted EMail for a workshop and a call for papers came. Is this uncorrelated? I asked back and I got the answer that I was subscribed on 16.03.2020 (5 years ago) which might be true. I generally don’t delete registration/subscription Emails; I could not find anything related to this workshop. I could not even remember getting any EMails from that mailing list, or if so, I must have deleted them. I explained the situation to the responsible person(s), but on the next day I got technical and legal consultation. If I was indeed part of the mailing list, there should be some sort of proof for it and some EMails would have to be sent in those 5 years right? The reposibles would be able to send me some. As one can see, it does not seem so yet. What is more, I slowly understand that there are 3 possibilities: 1) either my private Email is found by some means that rarely can be traced back or 2) there is silence (we did not see your question i.e. did not see the EMail) or 3) when I complain they claim to delete my data and don’t bug me again, therefore a follow-up question regarding the source of the EMail and some proof cannot be addressed because the people already deleted the data.
